Sitemap Script for Drupal v6
Ultimate Sitescript Solution?
I've been waiting for a working Sitemap module for Drupal v6 - and I finally decided to go out and find a third-party solution...
I finally settled on PHPSiteMapNG - it appears to be the most powerful free sitemap generator out there. I was looking for a server-based sitemap generator that would ping automatically, be capable of running via cron, and would automatically obey the robots.txt file.
Laptop Wizardry for Geeks
Upgrading From Vista to Windows XP
Yep - many people refer to moving from Vista to XP as "downgrading", but I think it's more accurately referred to as an upgrade. I recently purchased a Toshiba L305-S5913 laptop - nothing particularly fancy, it was a good deal at $499.95 - but it was running Vista Home Premium, which I have no particular interest in using. I feel that I'm probably in the majority of informed computer users - XP Pro is a perfectly suitable OS - while Vista is wonderful if you like 'eye-candy'. I suspect that Vista is only becoming more 'popular' because it's downright difficult to find new computers that have XP as an option, let alone already the primary OS.
Three Column Layout Trick for Drupal
Three Column Layout in Drupal
I'm a big fan of three column layouts - I just think that it's the most elegant and info-packed method to set up a website, particularly a blog or community site. In general, I like to put important menu items on the left, and information type items on the right. Strangely enough, you may have noted that Burningknife is set as a three column theme. However, you can run into problems - and I'd like to explain what solution works for this site.

Drupal Upgrading – A Simple 10 Step Process
I’ve upgraded my website several times – so I can hardly be considered an expert… but I’d like to document the steps I take to upgrade my Drupal site – so that others have a roadmap to follow. Keep in mind that those who are on a dedicated server may have different procedures, I’m on shared hosting (a fantastic site called Hot Drupal)… but if you’re on a dedicated server, you’ve probably already done this a few times!
